Last year of 2020, I shared with you the #ManekinekoAsana. This year, let us do the #BeautyQueenPose or #QueenGoddessAsana, which belongs to the #GoddessAsanas #Goddess #Asanas. This is the “Seated Variation”. And you are absolutely right, there is a Standing Variation, as well as a #WalkingDownTheRamp Variation.
I’m not a huge fan of beauty contests, though I was surprised to find that major contests (such as the local Ms. Universe and Ms. Earth pageants) took place before the end of 2020.
And I remembered how plantbase/vegan candidates have been participating in these key pageant platforms as a means of advocating plantbase nutrition (aside from aspiring to win the title and fulfill their beauty queen dreams).
The plantbase population in the country has been steadily rising through the years. Though it is a fact and truth that: PLANTBASE IS NOT NEW IN THE PHILIPPINES. It has been around for a looong time. It has to be remembered that “Not Eating Meat” is a spiritual practice for certain religions. And “spiritual fasting” is recognized even by Christians, during certain occasions.
MOREOVER, traditional Filipino dishes are actually VERY MUCH PLANTBASE. I often say this… I probably say this in every food post in the FB group Maharlika tiny.cc/MAHARLIKAfoodgroup and in my FB profile tiny.cc/HolisticHealthwithJONALYN that: It is SO VERY SIMPLE to turn almost any Filipino dish into a 100% plantbase dish. Filipino Cuisine is… in many ways… one of the most plantabse-friendly cuisines. And many dishes are easily “veganizable”.
COMMON PLANTBASE/VEGAN TERMS YOU MUST KNOW
VEGANIZE is to prepare/cook a dish usually made of or with animal ingredients in a way that you will completely opt out all animal ingredients, and replace them with plant ingredients. Thus, the dish is made purely 100% out of plant ingredients only. IT MAY OR MAY NOT CONTAIN man-made ingredients that are not derived from animals.
VEGANIZABLE is a term to describe a dish as something that can be transformed into a vegan/plantbase dish. The dish can be prepared/cooked without using any kind of animal ingredients.
To proceed…
Whether it is purely vegan or WFPB vegan… it is possible, and it is easy to do so.
Vegans have already created vegan eggs, completely free from chickens or anything derived from chickens! So I firmly say that virtually any kind of dish you wanna turn vegan→CAN BE TURNED VEGAN, ABSOLUTELY SANS ANIMAL MEAT AND OTHER ANIMAL BYPRODUCTS.
As a tropical country, growing plants is the most natural viable income-generating sustainable solution, which the government and business sectors SHOULD BE AND MUST BE investing in more and paying more attention to.
Many Westerners, who live in the cold winterish geographical regions, frequently travel to Asian nations JUST FOR ALL THE FRESH DELICIOUS #PLANTFOOD. Regardless of whether they are fruitarians, vegans, or omnivores. #YES even omnivores love visiting tropical Asian countries just for all the delicious fresh raw fruits and vegetables!
There are those who even permanently move and reside in Asian countries like the Philippines… because of the NATURAL cozy environment… AND all the natural real true healthy delicious foods!
Since the 1990’s, I encountered many Balikbayans and foreigners who tour the country to seek medical professionals. I was surprised that they would opt to seek medical treatment here, in spite the modern facilities and technologies abroad. And one of their main reasons is that the natural environment… being around nature… is already therapy for their heart, soul, and spirit.
I also frequently mention in my food posts in the FB group Maharlika tiny.cc/MAHARLIKAfoodgroup and in my FB profile tiny.cwc/HolisticHealthwithJONALYN that: Local doctors already “prescribe” plantbase nutrition. Apart from eating plantbase due to religion, health and medical treatment would be the other top reasons Filipinos are plantbase or turn plantbase. In the Philippines… there are patients who are “prescribed a 100% plantbase nutrition program, absolutely sans animal meat and byproducts”. For these very serious conditions, their doctors prescribe a 100% rawfood plantbase diet, absolutely sans meat and sans artificial/chemical flavors. And most often than not, this is prescribed as part of their ongoing therapy. Wealthy patients hire nutritionists who prepare weekly/monthly meal plans for them.
One of my greatest motivations for my passion in advocating a “sans animal nutrition” is summarized in a passage I wrote for a foodie article: We are fortunate that we do not have to be “compelled” to eat plants as medicine. As healthy human beings, we are blessed to have the choice of adopting a healthier holistic lifestyle #NOW→ instead of waiting for a time when you have to use plants as cures for health issues. Know more about my take on a plantbase lifestyle by reading my book #KEEPITLIGHT, barnesandnoble.com/w/keep-it-light-a-primer-on-energy-physical-mental-and-emotional-health-jonalyn-crisologo/1121856850
Eating raw fresh fruits is simple.
Eating lots of raw fresh fruits every day is simple.
AND it is just as simple to have 100% PLANTBASE REGULAR FULL MEALS ABSOLUTELY FREE FROM ANIMAL INGREDIENTS. Especially if you are still dependent on full rice meals. You still can have filling delish full rice meals on a 100% plantbase nutrition program.
We have to admit that the Filipino diet is highly rice-based. AND even in other countries such as the US, rice is a popular part of a full meal… in spite the fact that they are known for their burgers and pizzas.
In the Philippines… you can count on it that Pinoys love their heavy morning breakfast rice meals.
A couple of years ago, I did miss a lot of my favorite Pinoy dishes. And because I live in place where veganism is almost unknown, I had to DIY and make my meals absolutely homemade. I had to “veganize” them myself. From the very start, I did not have the leisure and convenience of having vegan restaurants or vegan groceries around.
1. I never lived close to any vegan shops/diners
2. I never knew there were already such things as “vegan places” to go to
3. I moved out of the city anyway
4. I only discovered the local vegan communities online when I was already mostly #rawfoodist and in the process of minimizing #wfpbvegan
So I was already mostly rawfoodist and fruitarian… having lots of “smoothie meals” as well… by the time I found out that there are places in the country, where there are already a lot of accessible vegan businesses… where you can simply walk in and buy vegan longganisa, vegan eggs, vegan milk, vegan pizza, vegan burger, vegan everything…
My personal experience transitioning out of omni and into plantbase is the primary reason I fully believe and affirm that ANYONE WHO ACTUALLY DESIRES TO DO SO CAN TRANSITION AND FULLY ADOPT A PLANTBASE NUTRITION. If you truly want to do it and make it happen… even if the world doesn’t have seitan, tempeh, and vegan chocolates and donuts… it is possible 100% to completely transition into a plantbase nutrition program absolutely free from animal meat and animal ingredients/derivatives. How simple is it to actually make a 100% Pinoy Breakfast Meal ABSOLUTELY SANS ANIMAL MEAT:
On the photo below…
The middle photo…
I have a plate of 100% Tofu Eggs and 100% DIY Homemade NO ANIMAL MEAT SAUSAGES. I used Sukang Iloco. The red things are sliced tomatoes.
Top photos: 1) Lumpia, and the filling is absolutely 100% NO ANIMAL MEAT. 2) Stir-fried Veggies with rice.
Bottom photos: 1) Absolutely PLANTMEAT No-Crab Crab Cakes. 2) Siomai, with a filling that is also ABSOLUTELY NO ANIMAL MEAT INGREDIENTS.
A 100% Plantbase Nutrition is 100% Possible and 100% Doable. And the Filipino Plantbase Population can attest to that.
Eight and more years ago… most people had to cook their own food if they want to stop eating animal meat and completely transition into a plantbase/vegan nutrition. Most people had to completely adopt a WFPB Vegan nutrition… almost bypass the junkfood.
I remember encountering plantbase people throughout my life who do not eat meat mostly due to their religion of birth or spiritual practice. There are those who say they struggled when they moved to different places (usually due to their work)… just because veganism is unknown by their employers or in the place they move to.
Due to many factors… including the rise of plantbase transitioners… the increase in the plantbase population… the increase in demand for plantbase/vegan food and products… the increase in plantbase/vegan businesses…
There already are many vegan options nowadays… compared to four or five years ago.
I could still remember how vegan donuts were selling like pancakes when lockdown was first announced nationwide, around this time last year!
I honestly sincerely truly believe and think that the 2020 lockdown was actually a very productive time in history… giving birth to many vegan and plantbase creations.
I personally thought of many vegan yoga products, during that time. From possible yoga mats to asana tools.
Back to my veganized breakfast dishes…
BTW: As a reminder, any photos of cooked meals I share are from “my treasure trove”. I use to share photos of meals I prepare to fellow vegans. And collected some of them. It was only recently that I realized I can continue to share them, even if I haven’t been cooking for about three years or more. Once in a blue moon… whenever there might be cooked food that I haven’t eaten for eons… I sometimes have a taste. However, that no longer includes rice meals. I only do that when it is food we rarely have and usually only buy it. An example is rice cake and native delicacies. Although I think I’ve had my fill. The last two times I had rice cake, I ate more than I could eat. While I was eating them… I actually felt that it might be my last time that I will eat a super sweet native rice cake… so I might as well have a huge serving that I might remember for the rest of my life. And now I feel like I will never crave or want another piece of super sweet native rice cake ever again.
PLANTBASE SAUSAGES (Plantbase Longganisa) is one of the most marketable, most salable plantbase/vegan products. So I cannot share you my personal recipe.
However, if you are in my town, you can schedule a plantbase session and I would be happy to share with you a couple of my DIY Homemade recipes. Send a PM to m.me/jonalyn.esperanzacrisologo.18
Today, I am resharing The Simplest 100% Plantbase Vegan SCRAMBLED TOFU EGGS Recipes that ANYONE can cook.
These recipes are the simplest of all vegan egg recipes. They are so simple, that even a grade-schooler can cook them!
RECIPE #1
A Block of TOFU. You can use ONE block or as many blocks of tofu as you like.
Instructions:
1. Crush block/s of tofu.
2. Fry in a pan, the way you would cook scrambled eggs.
RECIPE #2
This is for #NOOIL.
Instead of frying your scrambled tofu in a pan with oil…
Bake your crushed tofu in an oven.
RECIPE #3
Whether you fry in a pan or bake in an oven, if you want to cook scrambled tofu that tastes exactly like omni eggs: USE BLACK SALT instead of table salt, when cooking your tofu scrambles.
Make sure the BLACK SALT you buy is CULINARY SALT (EDIBLE SALT). Because you might buy black salt that is not consumable… and is used for other things. This “other kind of black salt” is absolutely not edible.
CULINARY BLACK SALT is usually found in India and Middle Eastern countries. Though it is already easier to find culinary black salt here in the country, due to the increasing demand from the plantbase population. It can already be found in popular groceries. And I have seen it a couple of times in Shopee and FB Marketplace.
“CULINARY” BLACK SALT is the ingredient used to give TOFU EGGS an “eggy taste”. If you want your tofu eggs to taste like usual eggs… this is what you have to add to make tofu eggs taste like usual eggs. And your tofu eggs will smell and taste absolutely like usual eggs.
“CULINARY” BLACK SALT can also be used for different kinds of dishes, which you want to have an eggy taste.
Culinary Black Salt is used more than just “to mimic egg taste”. It is also used as flavor/seasoning for other kinds of dishes.
I never really liked egg smell and egg taste. Though I use to like cooking scrambled eggs and omelettes, because I use to like mixing up different ingredients with these. I use to like making them with chopped garlic, onions, bell peppers, corn, peas, etc. So I didn’t really miss the smell and taste of eggs. I just liked cooking scrambles and omelettes. And TOFU was one of the best ways I was able to curb and overcome egg cravings.
Scrambled Tofu Eggs are obviously simple and easy. MOREOVER, they are free from all the mess and hassle of using ch’ck-n eggs.
You can be assured that all other kinds of eggs are 100% DOABLE in a plantbase nutrition. AND YOU CAN DO THEM EVEN AT HOME. ABSOLUTELY DIY.
